The varsity baseball team fell to Southwood 9-2 to drop to 1-7 on the season. Brody Glancy got the start and took the loss allowing five runs, three earned on just one hit but walked three and his defense committed 3 errors behind him. Zach Tarr allowed one earned run over his two innings of relief. Devin Tarr pitched a 1-2-3 6th.
The Bruins picked up four hits and earned six walks but the inability twice to put the ball in play with bases loaded led to nine stranded runners. Chase Mahan, Brody Glancy, George Glawson, and Devin Kirkwood picked up the Bruin hits.
“We have got to throw strikes and cut down on our mistakes to give us a chance. We don’t score a lot of runs so the defense has to tighten up. I was happy with our middle infield and outfield play so that was encouraging,” stated Coach Uggen.
The Bruins, 1-7, host Southern Wells on Friday at 5pm.
