Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · Soccer Falls to MC

The boys soccer team fell to Muncie Central last night 12-0 to fall to 0-4 overall. Freshman Charlie Cranston had another amazing game in goal with 30 saves. Brodie Barnes had 4 great shots on the goal but was unable to find the back of the net.

Coach Batman stated, “Muncie Central was easily the best all-around team we have played this year. I haven’t seen a team where every guy was faster than all but one player on an opposing team. Their talent could not be matched by us.

“Our team effort was probably the best I have seen. We were communicating, showing on and off the ball confidence and awareness, and marking up on defense. The score doesn’t give justice to the type of game we had. We were trying out a new formation that Coach Poore and I were really impressed with how the guys played it. I cannot speak highly enough of how well we played against the 11th ranked team in the state with a team consisting of 18 underclassmen. Among those underclassmen is Charlie Cranston, our freshman goalkeeper, who is ranked #1 in the state for total saves.”

The Bruins travel to Eastbrook for a 5:30pm contest on Tuesday, September 1. The girls game with Eastbrook will follow at 7:30pm.
