The boys soccer team fell to Eastbrook last night, 2-0 to fall to 0-5 on the season.
According to Coach Batman, “Eastbrook played a good game. They were aggressive and passed very well in the midfield. They had some great talent on that team. We kept up with them though. It took us some time to get adjusted to the turf field, but once that happened, we started to play some really good soccer. We had some great opportunities to score with headers and great offensive movement. The turf caused the ball be played much faster and bounce a lot higher which caused our timing to be just little off. Overall, I was very impressed with how we played. There was significant improvement from our first couple games. The guys look forward to possibly playing Eastbrook again in the sectional.
“Coach Poore and I are convinced we have not yet seen the best from this team. The pieces are starting to fall in place and each game shows that progress is moving in the right direction. Our midfield shows the most evidence of that progress. Quinten Howard, Zach Willmann, and Quenton Thurman are playing some phenomenal soccer for us in the midfield positions. Our senior leaders, Brodie Barnes, Jarron Morris, and Dakota Case, are being absolute work horses for our young team.”
Charlie Cranston continued to play well in goal as he had 15 saves. Brodie Barnes had 3 shots on goal. Zach Willmann had 1 shot on goal.
Hopefully, the young Bruins continue to improve as they have much to look forward to if they do so.
The Bruins return to action Thursday as they host Yorktown at 5pm.
