Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · Boys Soccer Falls to Yorktown

The boys soccer team dropped to 0-6 after an 8-0 loss to Yorktown last night. Charlie Cranston had 18 saves in goal. Brodie Barnes had 3 shots on goal. Zach Willmann and Quinn Cunningham each had 1 shot on goal.

Coach Batman, “this was not the result we wanted or expected. Yorktown came out hungrier than us and had some great shots and movement around our goal. They were awarded 2 penalty kicks and were crashing the goal on every opportunity. Our counter attacks looked really promising. We just haven’t figured out how to finish shots in a game.

At this point in the season, Coach Poore and I are seeing some very encouraging play from our sophomores and freshmen. With such a short season it’s proven difficult to get our on the field chemistry together with this young squad. The thing I am most proud of is our sportsmanship. This team is making Blackford Boys Soccer a class act program which comes mostly from our captains Brodie Barnes, Jarron Morris, Zach Willmann, and Mark White.”

The Bruins return to action on Thursday, September 10, when they head to Jay County to face the Patriots at 5pm.
