The boys soccer team came up short to Jay County, 3-0. Charlie Cranston had 12 saves. Brodie Barnes and Austin Moorman each had one shot on goal.
Coach Batman shared, “For the first 15 minutes of the match, we were the dominant team. Our offense was clicking, and the defense was making smart decisions. We had one mental mistake which led to their first goal. It was an uphill battle after that. Second half was much better for us. The guys came out ready to fight. We played a great game for all but 20 minutes. This team is making great strides in getting to the point where we can win games. Our problem is that we have not yet played our best soccer for the full 80 minutes.
The head official complimented this team extensively after the game was over. He said that the score did not represent the type of game we played. It is not the first time an official has approached me or Coach Poore after a game to compliment the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship of this team.
Next week we have 3 games against teams who will be great competition for us. The guys are ready to win and cannot wait to play next week. There is a different fight inside these guys after tonight’s game. If you have not been able to come watch this team, next week will be fun. Come out and support us! Let’s Go Bruins!!”
The Bruins return to action on Tuesday, September 15 at Liberty Christian. The game begins at 5:30pm.
