Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · Boys Soccer Falls to Tipton, 3-0

The boy’s soccer team fell to Tipton 3-0 to fall to 0-9 on the season. Jarron Morris had 22 saves. Brodie Barnes had 4 shots. Spencer Blakely and Keaton Elkins each had 2 shots.

Coach Batman shared after the game, “I was pleased with our overall effort against Tipton. They knew how to pass the ball efficiently and create space for themselves. Our boys fought them extremely well. We have proved to ourselves that we know how to play. It’s time we convince ourselves we know how to play winning soccer. We have a great opportunity to do that Saturday against Mississinewa.

“I could not be more proud of the young men I have on this team. Their character and sportsmanship is something to really admire. It’s pretty rare for a high school team to show the kind of discipline Coach Poore and I teach in the height of a competitive game. It’s unfortunate that good character is a rare quality on sports teams but that is no excuse not to demand it during a contest. Our boys do that, and Blackford takes pride in them.”

The Bruin host Mississinewa Saturday morning at 10:00am weather permitting. The girl’s game follows at noon.
