The girls cross country team placed 4th out of 13 schools. They were 6 points off of Randolph Southern who placed 3rd.
Falynne Reed placed 7th, matching her previous PR of 21:34. Bailey Cline ran a season best of 22:02 for 11th place. Ashley Thurman with a PR of 22:59 for 27th place. Jamie Twibell ran a 23:18 for 31st place. Bry Futrell rounding out the girls team with a 37th place finish at 23:39.
The boys cross country team placed 7th out of 13 schools. Andrew Thurman led the way with a 13th place finish (18:21). Other finishers were Brady Swartz 23rd (19:01), Justin Call 31st (19:19), Ethan Henderson 47th (20:20), Evan DuBois 76th (23:16), and Myles Cline 95th (28:38).
Coach Gleckler shared, “The boys and girls teams both ran strong today in muddy conditions. We are continuing to improve and tournament is coming closer. Next week will provide us with some strong competition at the New Haven Invite against a team we are looking to beat on both the boys and girls sides when we run the sectional meet in 3 weeks. Running at New Haven will allow us to see the semi-state course before tournament action begins. I’m always proud of how hard these kids work and we will continue to strive for success!”
Natalie Thurman finished 7th place at the South Adams Middle School XC meet today. 6th grader, Ruby Slentz, got her PR of 14:55.
