Dakota Mohler led the Bruins with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win at 3 singles, but it wasn’t enough as Bluffton won the other 4 varsity matches to take the team win 4-1. The 2 doubles team of Nancy Cole and Brianna Phillips once again played a very close and entertaining 3 set match but once again came out on the losing end. Tori Baker played well again but not well enough to win.
Coach Smith shared, “Being thrown in at the 1 singles position is tough for a freshman. I’m really excited about working with Tori (Baker) over the next few years. Her future looks great.”
In JV action, Courtney Eppard and Audrey Foster played well winning at 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Also the 4 doubles team of Morgan Shroyer and Julia Perez picked up a win. Fisrt yeat players Rilee Smith and the 2 doubles team of Brittaney Dillon and Gretchen Messersmith showed a lot of improvement in their close loses.
