The Bruins got their 1st win of the season by defeating Madison-Grant on Friday night 181-217. Evan Jones posted the best round with a 41, adding excitement to the match from 200 yards out Evan Jones hit his second shot on hole #7 landed it inches away from the hole nearly hitting a double eagle. Jones tapped in for his eagle. On the same hole Quinn Cunningham hit the flag stick from 160 yards out and resting inches from the hole allowing him to have a tap in birdie. Cunningham finished with a 43. Zach Willmann struggled at the start but turn it on and finished strong to post a 49.
Coach Cunningham commented, “I am proud of the way Willmann kept it together and finished his round strong. Ethan Huffman is showing good improvement posted a 49 as well.” Nathan Brown finished the scoring for the varsity with a 51.
In the JV match the last group was cut short on the last hole of finishing due to darkness. On holes finished the Bruins JV out shot Madison Grants JV 181-217. Quin Blakely had the low score for the JV shooting a 53.
The Bruins traveled to Twin Lakes on Saturday for a 17 team invitational. More info to come on those results.
