The boys golf team opened the home season at Club Run with a win over Monroe Central 189-220. The Bruins took advantage of their home course to post a respectable score. Low medalists for the night were Evan Jones and Zach Willmann, finishing with a par of 43’s. Nathan Brown totaled a 50, Quin Blakely finished with 53, and Ethan Huffman had a 56. The Bruins now 2-2 on the season.
In the JV match the Bruins escaped with a narrow win, 243-245. Low score for the match goes to Quenton Thurman with a 53. It was a personal best for Thurman in match play. Other scores for the JV were Spencer Blakely with a 59, Scott McCaffery with a 64, Austin Collett with a 67, and Caleb Messersmith with a 69.
The Bruins will be in action again on Friday at Mississinewa (Shady Hills GC) at 4:30pm, and then again on Saturday in the Eastbrook Invitational (Arbor Trace GC) at 9:00am.
