The Bruin golf team posted their best score of the season but fell to highly ranked Oak Hill 151-165 at Arbor Trace GC.
Low Medalist for the night was Cody White from Oak Hill with a one under score of 35. For the Bruins on the night, Zach Willmann had another strong performance with a 40 his best score of the season. Following Willmann in scoring for the Bruins were Quinn Cunningham 41, Evan Jones 42, Nathan Brown 42, and Ethan Huffman in the final varsity spot with a 51. Coach Cunningham stated, “I was very pleased with the Bruins performance tonight, the scores are consistent and continue to improve. We left a few strokes out there that could drive our scores lower. We are just on the threshold of breaking into the 30’s in all varsity positions which is very encouraging.”
The Bruins now 3-3 on the season will travel to Jay County on Thursday 4/28/16 for a three way match with Jay County and Bluffton starting at 4:30.
In the JV match Oak Hill posted a 190 to Blackford’s 208. Low medalist for the JV was Quin Blakely with a 44 his low score for the season. Finishing out the scoring for Blackford Spencer Blakely 52, Quenton Thurman 56, Jake Strait 56, and Austin Collett with a 58. Not in the scoring total, Scott McCaffery turned in a personal best score of 52.
The JV will also travel and compete in Jay County on Thursday 4/28.
