Blackford Boys Golf improves to 5-3 with Wins over Jay County and Bluffton Thursday Night in a 3-way match.
Thursday night the Blackford Boys Golf Team shot well defeating Jay County and Bluffton in a 3-team match in spite of the cold, wind and rain. The Bruins shot an impressive 164 to post their lowest round for the season. Jay County shot 171, and Bluffton finished with 183. The Bruins were led by Nathan Brown who shot 40 on the night. Brown struggled a little bit early but finished strong knocking down a couple of birdies. Zach Willmann and Evan Jones posted a pair of 41’s with Quinn Cunningham finished out the scoring with a 42. In the final varsity spot Quin Blakely shot a 50. “The Bruins are gelling as team with the scores being very consistent over the past few matches,” shared Coach Cunningham who is “very pleased with their progress.”
The Bruins improved to 5-3 on the season and will travel to Winchester on Saturday for the Winchester Invitational starting at 8:00 am.
