The Bruin Boys Golf team had another strong showing finishing 3rd in the 11 team Winchester Invitational. The Bruins played well despite the unfavorable conditions. “It was cold, wet, and windy,” according to Coach Cunningham.
The Bruins had four golfers finish in the 80’s, I was very pleased with the scores considering the conditions of the day. Leading the Bruins was Freshman Nathan Brown with an 84. Quinn Cunningham followed with an 85. Evan Jones fired and 86 and Zach Willmann added an 87. Ethan Huffman finished out the scoring with a 94 which his personal best on the season. Coach Cunningham mentioned, “it was great to see our top four golfers posting scores within 4 shots of each other. That shows we have consistency.”
Winning the day was Muncie Central with a 325 led by Keegan Bronnenberg who blew the field away with a 68. Other scores included Union County (336), Blackford (342), Richmond (343), Jay County (360), Northeastern (364), Winchester (396), Union City (402), Monroe Central (420), New Haven (426), and Lincoln (431).
The Bruins will host South Adams Monday at Club Run starting at 4:30pm.
