The Bruins boy’s soccer team dropped their season opener at Bellmont 4-1.
Spencer Blakely scored with an assist from Peyton Smith. Charlie Cranston had 19 saves. Mark White blocked 6 shots. Quinten Howard had two shots on goal.
Coach Batman shared, “Bellmont played a great organized game. They were well coached and came out ready to fight. Their experience showed throughout the whole game.”
“Our Bruins did not back down. It was one of the most aggressive games I have seen our guys play. That is a very encouraging thing to see during the first game of the season. We have a lot to work on, but there was significant improvement offensively, defensively, and in overall effort from last season. It was great to see the ball land in the back of the net from Spencer Blakey’s shot set up by Peyton Smith. No one was happy or satisfied with the result. These guys are hungry for some wins, and I think tonight showed us exactly what we need to work on to get those W’s,” added Coach Batman.
