The boy’s soccer team fell 6-1 to Muncie Central to drop to 0-2 on the young season. Keaton Elkins scored the lone goal with 4 shots on goal. Quinton Howard had 2 shots as well. Charlie Cranston made 11 saves in goal.
Coach Brad Batman shared, “Muncie Central played a fantastic game of soccer. Their system of play suited their players well as they exploited some of our weaknesses.
“Once again, we did not back down from a great team. Mark White, Quinton Howard, and Keaton Elkins set the tone for our defensive presence and aggressiveness. Very proud of the way our team stepped up to play a very talented team.
“Our offensive attack looked much better today. We had good ball movement and shot selections around the 18 yard line. Keaton scored the lone goal on a free kick after Muncie Central committed a foul a few yards outside of the 18. This is the first game while being the coach that I have seen the Bruins take more shots than our keeper had saves. It shows we are working better as a team. We still have a lot to work on, but I’m proud of the progress we are making as a team.”
The Bruins travel to Sheridan on Saturday for a 10am contest.
The Bruins will make up the Delta match at 7pm after the girl’s match with Burris. The South Adams match will be made up on September 26 at 5pm.
