The Bruin cross country teams competed at the Taylor University Invitational this morning.
The girls placed 5th out of 10 teams.
Places and Times were as follows:
16. Falynne Reed – 22:10
27. Jamie Twibell – 23:24
29. Bry Futrell – 23:29
32. Natalie Thurman – 23:54
37. Jordan Charnley – 24:48
Coach Gleckler shared, “I was very impressed with how our girls competed today in our second race of the season. They were in a good groove as a team and worked together to place well in the race. One team that was ahead of us won state last year, two others ran at Semi-State, and the fourth nearly qualified to Semi-State as a team last year. I feel good about where we are at this juncture of the season. Times will continue to drop as we continue to train. Natalie Thurman ran a really strong race in her second race of her high school running career, improving by nearly a minute and a half from last week at Monroe Central. Bry Futrell ran well in her first race of the season. Falynne, Jamie, and Jordan provide a solid foundation for our team.”
The HS boys did not have a complete team.
Coach Gleckler added, “Andrew Thurman led the way for the high school boys on his way to an 8th place finish in a field of nearly 100 runners. He was awarded with a top 15 finisher t-shirt for his performance. Parker Crouch ran a gutsy first race of his high school running career as a Junior. He will continue to improve as he becomes more used to cross country training. Jacob Clamme and Cameron Rinker ran in their second race for the Bruins. I am looking forward to having our other two boys, Logun Dienberg and Evan DuBois, active again for next week’s meet.”
The Bruins will head south to compete at the Terre Haute North Invite next Saturday at 8:30am.
