The C football team picked up a big win over Elwood last night to guarantee a winning season record, 40-16, to improve to 5-3 on the season. The Bruins played well despite having four starters out. Any concerns were squelched early as the Bruins jumped out to a 26-8 half time lead.
Landon Mansfield threw two passing touchdowns to Isaac Justice and Dalton Willmann. Ethan Miller, Skyler Tarr, and Isaac Justice all had one rushing touchdown apiece. Mansfield and Willmann each had a interceptions and Tarr had a safety to lead the defense.
Coach Townsend mentioned, “Skyler Tarr did a real good job stepping in and running the ball for us. He also did a great job on defense leading our team in tackles with 10. (We) did a real good job tonight playing as a team. Coach Jones and I are really proud of the work these boys are putting in.”
The C team finishes their season at Eastbrook on Saturday. Kick-off is set for 10am.
