Multiple Teams · JH Girls Defeat Elwood

The junior high girls basketball teams traveled to Elwood last night and picked up 2 wins.

The 8th graders beat Elwood 57-16 to win their third game of the season already matching their win total from a year ago. The Lady Bruins had a balanced attack in a dominating win. Jaycie Sones led all scorers with 16 points.

Jeni Rogers: 12 points, 6 steals, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds.

Chloe Christman: 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assist, 1 block
Alexa Hurd: 4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals
Avery Kabrich: 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal

The 7th graders defeated Elwood 36-26. Blackford lead throughout the game jumping out to a 12-7 lead after the first quarter. The Bruins went into halftime up 26-7 behind Madison Merkel’s 12 first half points. The Lady Bruins battled through adversity in the second half to emerge with a ten point lead. Kiley Eppard scored 8 points to lead the Bruins.
