Multiple Teams · JH Girls BB Splits with Southern Wells

The JH girls basketball teams hosted Southern Wells last night at BJHS. The 7th grade Lady Bruins improved to 3-1 with a 42-4 win over Southern Wells Raiders.  Kiley Eppard sparked the Bruins with 8 first quarter points, helping the Bruins open an 18-1 lead after one. Katie Apperson layed in 6 second quarter points to help the Lady Bruins take a 32-4 lead into the half. Sissy McNeal had 2 steals off the bench for the Lady Bruins tonight.

Macy Cagle: 6 points, 5 steals
Sissy McNeal: 2 rebounds, 2 steals

Madison Merkel: 12 points, 3 rebounds
Katie Apperson: 6 points, 5 rebounds

The 8th graders lost their first game of the year to Southern Wells 41-25 to fall to 3-1.  Grace Simmons led the Lady Bruins with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Jaycie Sones scored 5 points and added 4 rebounds.

Coach Michael Ortman shared, “As with our wins, this loss is on every player. It was an eye opener and will only make the team stronger.”
