Multiple Teams · JH Girls Go 0-4 at RJB Invite


The 7th grade Lady Bruins fell to 3-3 Saturday with two losses in the RJ Baskett Holiday Tournament. In the first game, the Bruins fell to RJ Baskett 43-30. Kiley Eppard was the leading scorer with 12 points. Casandra Mounsey once again spearheaded the Bruins defense with tremendous hustle and tenacity.
In the second game, the Lady Bruins fell to Selma 38-26. Macy Cagle led the Bruins with 8 points. Josie Oswalt and Katie Apperson worked hard on the boards, with 9 and 7 rebounds, respectively.

The 8th graders lost two tough fought games dropping their record to 3-3. In the first game, the girls lost a close game 33-26. They were led by Grace Simmons with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Alexa Hurd also scored 10 points and grabbed 3 boards.

In the second game, the girls lost to Selma 49-16. Selma’s coaches stated the Lady Bruins were their toughest opponent to date. Grace Simmons led the Lady Bruins with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. and Jaycie Sones and Alexa Hurd scored 4 points apiece.

The Lady Bruins look to improve their record Thursday at home against Madison-Grant at 5:30pm.
