Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · Lady Bruins Fall to Marion

The Lady Bruins fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 4-0 loss to Marion on Thursday. Marion took the lead on a double in the second inning.

A single by Haylie Williamson in the first inning was a positive, but could not score her. Lierra Hillman, Alena Lee, Saylor Goodspeed, and Haylie Williamson each collected one hit to lead the offense. The Lady Bruins  didn’t commit a single error in the field. Makayla Harrold had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

“Lack of discipline at the plate hurt us tonight. We struck out 15 times tonight. Early in the game we were swinging at terrible pitches up out of the strike zone. I don’t think we were able to recover mentally”, said Coach Dick Lyon after the game.

They return to play at home tomorrow night at 5pm against Huntington North. It will be the last regular season game for the Lady Bruins who are now 5-15 on the season.
