The boys tennis team improved to 2-14 with a solid 4-1 win over Randolph Southern at home.
2S Dylan Funkhouser and 3S Austin Collett collected their first wins of the season in those particular positions. Each played with improved consistency and increased strategic shots against their opponents.
Jerret Barker and Kyle Price picked up their first win at 1D, and Myles Cline and Gage Koenemann kept things interesting winning 2 straight sets after losing the first.
1S Straton Stone stayed in a marathon match pushing 3 hours, however, couldn’t outlast his opponent in the end. “Straton showed a lot of mental toughness tonight and fought to the end. These are experience building matches and, as a sophomore, he is proving with the adjustments he is making to his game that he will definitely be finding success in the near future,” Coach Alison Thompson explained.
