The varsity girls basketball team dropped to 0-16 after a 72-8 drubbing by Oak Hill. It was the second time this season that the Lady Bruins failed to reach 10 points. South Adams held the offense to 9 points on November 11. It was the 19th consecutive loss for the young Bruins who did not score in the fourth quarter and never scored more than 4 point in any quarter.
Gretchen Messersmith, Hailey Morris, Catelynn Bennett and Grace Simmons each scored 2 points. Simmons added 4 rebounds. Helen Whitesell recorded 2 assists. The Bruin were plagued by 34 turnovers and only managed 22 shots the entire game. The Lady Bruins did not shoot a free throw.
The JV girls fell to Oak Hill, 40-28. Alexa Hurd led the Lady Bruins with 8 points and 3 rebounds. Zoey Sawyer scored 6 points, and chipped in 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist. Grace Marshall added 5 points, a rebound and 2 steals. Bre Adney scored 4 points and 4 steals. Makayla Harrold scored 3 points and added 5 rebounds. Erin Cagle added a bucket, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
The JV is now 6-10 on the season. The Lady Bruins host Burris on Wednesday. It is a varsity game only night with tip off set for 7:00pm.
