The Bruins fell to Jay County on Saturday night, 59-38. Luke Brown displayed his long shooting range in the first quarter by knocking down two 3’s from the volleyball line, one in which he was fouled on and converted the 4 point play. Jay County was able to hit a couple of 3’s as well and led after one, 12-9.
On the Bruins second possession of the second quarter, Brown planted his foot on a drive to the basket and went down in extreme pain in the ankle/foot area. Brown was not able to put any pressure on the foot while being carried off. At halftime, Brown went to the locker room on crutches and did not return. Jay County led at the time, 25-16.
The Bruins (10-5) looked to cut the lead in the third with two 3’s by Brandon Stroble and got as close as 27-23 but the patriots went on a run and never looked back.
