Bruins News · JH Swimmers Fall to Bluffton; Hidy & Jennerjahn Pick Up 1sts


The junior high swim teams opened their season with Bluffton last night. The girls fell to Bluffton 126-44. The boy’s lost their meet 126-53. Ethan Hidy took 1st in the 100Y Backstroke and Sophia Jennerjahn was 1st in 100Y Breaststroke to lead the effort.

Coach Christine Geise said afterward, “Wow, what a night. Everyone did a great job. We are a young team and still have a lot to learn but everyone is going to get better as the season goes on. Looking forward to what the rest of this season brings. Keep working hard and we will keep reviewing and fixing as well as getting more time in the pool.”

Next Opponent and Date: Elwood on Monday, February 12 @ 5:30pm. Coach Geise also reminds all swimmers that there is practice tonight (Thursday) from 5:30-7:00pm and that the team will be recognized at halftime of the varsity boy’s basketball game tonight as well. Team and individual pictures will be taken on Monday before departure for the meet at Elwood. Make sure bring your picture form and money if you are ordering.
