You win some close matches and you lose some close matches. The Lady Bruins came up short tonight in a close match that included five tie-breakers. Tori Baker and the 2 Doubles team of Skylar Stephens/Ashley Willmann each won by identical scores of 7-6(7-2), 6-2. Baker was down 5-2 in her opening set, but got it going after that by winning 11 of the next 14 games (including the tiebreaker) to win her match. The 2 doubles team let a first set lead slip away before recovering and winning the tie-breaker and the 2nd set. 1 doubles Brianna Phillips/Brittaney Dillon couldn’t produce the same results as they lost the 1st set tie-breaker and then lost the 2nd set. 2 singles Audrey Foster lost a really close match. She lost both sets in a tie-breaker. Sierria McPherson fought hard but came up short in her 3 singles match. It was the conference opener for both teams, which makes it even harder to take.
