Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis Competes at DeKalb Invite

The Lady Bruins spent a cold, windy Saturday at the Dekalb Invitational on Saturday without much success. They finished with one point on the day to finish last in the 8-team field.  The 1 doubles team of Ashley Willmann/Skylar Stephens picked up the only win of the day and finished in sixth place in their flight beating the host school Dekalb in their 2nd round match. Coach Brian Smith shared, “It was nice to see the two get a win at 1 doubles. This should help build their confidence.”

1, 2 and 3 singles players Tori Baker, Audrey Foster and Brittaney Dillon saw some of the best tennis players they have faced all season. The best they could each do was win four games in one of their four sets.

In 2 doubles Jenna Keplinger made her first varsity start. With her partner Kayleigh Clevenger, the 2 were only able to come up with three games total in their two matches, but each gained some good experience.
