The Lady Bruins made the shortest trip of the season as they traveled to Jay County. However the Lady Bruins also came up short on the scoreboard. Everyone was able to compete in at least one of their sets, but in the end Jay won 5-0. The 1 doubles team of Ashley Willmann/Skyler Stephens won their first set 7-5. After that they seemed to lose momentum and in the end lost the 2nd and 3rd sets. 1 singles player Tori Baker got off to a slow start losing her 1st set 6-0. Coach Brian Smith shared, “The 2nd set went back and forth for the 1st few games and was tied at 4-4 until her Jay opponent was able to win the last 2 games and take the match.” The 2 doubles team of Jenna Keplinger/Kayleigh Clevenger almost pulled out their 2nd set losing 7-5. Seniors Audrey Foster and Brittaney Dillon at 2 and 3 singles were each able to get 3 games in their 2nd set.
Tonight ended a run of 4 matches in 4 nights. Tori Baker and Audrey Foster were able to pick up 2 wins in the 4 game stretch. Tomorrow nights practice will give us a chance to regroup and fix some things to get ready for the final stretch of the season.
