Boys Junior Varsity Baseball · JV Baseball Continues to Roll Down Stretch

The JV Bruins slugged their way to a 16-6 win at Daleville Wednesday evening. The Bruins improve their record to 9-11 on the season. Kyle Price hit a two run home run for the Bruins in the top of the first en route to a 2-3 day at the plate. Cam Elam and Lucas Gore also went two for three for the Bruins and each scored two runs. Brandon Apple laid down two majestic bunts to maintain rallies in the fifth and sixth innings. All Bruin starters reached base safely at least once.

“Great game tonight. Those were two of the best pitchers we’ve seen all year but our kids had a good approach and did a nice job of getting on. Kyles home run and Brandon’s bunts were big emotional lifts for us tonight,” Coach Hissong stated after the game.
Kyle Price started and went three innings for the Bruins, working around 4 hits, 3 walks and 3 errors to leave with the game with a 6-3 lead. Braydon Kunz threw two innings for the Bruins allowing three runs, one earned. Branstan Wine closed the final frame for the Bruins.
“All three kids did a nice job pitching tonight. Kyle worked out of a couple early jams to keep us in it and Braydon flipped a few first pitch curves over for strikes that kept them off balance. Branstan threw his off speed stuff well tonight in his inning. All around great effort from everyone tonight,” Coach Hissong concluded after the game.

The JV Bruins close their season at home as they host Jay County at 5:00pm.
