Frankton kept Blackford out of the endzone in a pair of junior high football games Tuesday night. The Eagles won the 7th grade game 42-0 and the 8th grade game by a score of 34-0.
“The seventh grade played a rough and tough Frankton team,” said Coach Wade Hummer. “We came out strong and gave it everything we had but fell short. Most important is theyy never gave up on themselves and finished strong.”
Offensively the Bruins were led by Wyatt Smith and Donvovan Soto with 10 yards apiece followed by Randy Winger and Trinity Berry with 5 yards each.
Defensively Quinton Stacy led with 8 tackles followed by Smith, Logan Libby, and Jaylynn Duke with three apiece. With two tackles each were Soto and Xander Bell.
Leading the 8th grade defense was Ryan Burris with 9 tackles followed by Bryan Hernandez with 7 and Braxton Malott with 3. With 2 tackles each were Kadin Duke, Elijah Sage, Kendric Dishman, and Sam Brock.
“The eighth grade played a really good game. They came out strong and held Frankton for the first few drives. They played through bumps and bruises, but continued to give everything they had and did not give up,” Hummer said.
The offense was led by Hernandez with 15 yards, Burris with 10 yards, and Malott with 5 yards.
TheBruin JH squads, both 0-3, will play Alexandria next Tuesday.
