The JH football team fell to Eastbrook 52-6 on Tuesday. Technically, however, the game was ruled a forfeit as the Bruins have combined their 7th and 8th grade teams to form one team due to low numbers. Though the score certainly wasn’t what was hoped for, a highlight for the Bruins was scoring their first points of the season on a 75-yard TD run by Carson Smith.
Ryan Burris led the defense with 12 tackles. Smith led the offense with 149 yards rushing. Bryan Hernandez added 24 yards rushing and contributed three tackles.
Coach Wade Hummer shared, “Over all we played well and scored our first touchdown of the year with a 75 yard rush from Carson Smith. The Bruins improve every day and week.”
The Bruins are now 0-6 and finish the season against RJ Baskett at Mississinewa on Tuesday. Kick-off is set for 6pm.
