Bruins News · JH Girls Fall in Semis

The JH girls basketball team both competed Saturday morning at Eastbrook in the CIC semis. Unfortunately, both teams lost their first game to finish what turned out to be very successful seasons.

In the opener, The 7th grade Lady Bruins fell to RJ Baskett, 39-28.  The Bruins led the whole game up until the fourth quarter.  RJ Baskett came into the fourth quarter strong hitting some outside shots while the Bruins struggled to get to the basket.

The Bruins gave it their all from start to finish and but couldn’t pull off the win. Leading the Bruins was Gracie Lamotte with 10 points followed by Faith Gephart with 9.

The Bruins had a great season going  15-2.  Thank you to all the fans for all the support through out the year.

The 8th graders entered the game 16-0, but fell behind after one, 8-4. Frankton continued to pull away taking a 23-7 lead to the half. The Lady Bruins went on a 9-0 run to start the third to cut the lead to 23-26, but the deficit ended up being too big to overcome. Frankton went on to win the game, 33-28.

Olivia Waters scored 16 points to lead the Bruins. Olivia Leas added 7 points. The 28 points was the Bruins lowest output for the season.

Coach Waters noted, “(I am) proud of these young ladies for going through the season unbeaten. They played five games in 10 days and four of them were on the road. Great season and a great future for the Lady Bruins.”

Congratulations to both teams on a great season. Great job Lady Bruins!
