The Indiana Department of Education released information about a waiver process to reduce the number of make-up days for schools. This addresses concerns for schools that have missed a significant number of days this year due to weather. Essentially, schools will be required to make up the first five days missed, then every other day may be waived.
From Michelle Gross at BCS….
Blackford County Schools has applied for and been granted the waiver. We have missed 9 days so far this year. This means day 7 and day 9 would not need to be made up for students. As of today, the last day of school is now May 30th.
Because it is the first week of February and more weather issues may arise, this may change. All updates will be shared via district website and social media.
