The Lady Bruins traveled to Maconaquah yesterday and dropped a double header to the host Lady Braves, 13-1 and 8-5.
The Bruins fell behind 6-1 after two innings and could not recover. The offense struggles collecting just three hits from Kiley Eppard, Grace Simmons and Rheagan Harding. Eppard collected the lone RBI driving in Peyote Henderson in the second.
Eppard, a freshman, pitched all four innings allowing 13 runs, 8 earned, on 10 hits. She walked three, hit two batters, and struck out two in taking the loss.
In game two, the Bruins jumped to a 4-0 lead after the first half inning, but Maconaquah rallied back to lead it 5-4 after two. Alexa Hurd tied the game with a solo homer, but the Lady Braves scored three in the bottom of the sixth and went on to win, 8-5.
Stats have not been posted yet for the Lady Bruins in game 2 so more to come on that game.
The Lady Bruins, now 2-6, head to Shenandoah on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 5pm.
