The BJHS Baseball team lost to Oak Hill 17-7. Oak Hill jumped out to an early 6-1 lead much in part to the Bruins pitchers inability to throw strikes. That continued until the Golden Eagles had built a 11-2 lead in the 4th. The Bruins would rally, thanks to a 2-out Oak Hill error in the 5th, to score five runs to make it 11-7 at the time. But Oak Hill would, in the end, take advantage of seven walks, seven hit batters and 11 Bruin errors to win in six innings.
Carson Smith collected two hits and scored twice to lead the offense. Landon Rogers, Eli Martin, and Nate Lemle each notched a hit.
Mason Merkel pitched two innings allowing four runs on two hits. He struck out one. Landon Rogers allowed three runs on a hit. He struck out two. Nate Lemle allowed two runs on three hits in an inning of work. Carson Smith allowed six runs on four hits in his two innings.
The Bruins travel to Jay County on Monday. The game begins at 5pm.
