Bruins News · JH Football Defeats Oak Hill 7th Graders

The JH football team traveled to Oak Hill last night and defeated the Golden Eagles 7th grade team, 24 -8. It was a win on the field but, for CIC results, the game is considered a forfeit as the Bruins played their 7th and 8th graders in the game due to low numbers.

The Bruins started the first quarter with a drive resulting in a 3-yard touchdown and 2-point conversion from Wyatt Smith to lead 8-0. The Golden Eagles would score in the second quarter. Going into halftime the Bruins lead 8-6.

The Bruins would get a defensive stop to start the third quarter and would follow with a 25-yard run from TY Neuenschwander setting up a 1-yard touchdown and 2-point conversion run from Nick Ely. The Bruins would score on their next drive with a 4-yard touchdown run from Morgan Randall and a 2-point conversion.

The Bruins backfield shared the work load with Wyatt Smith gaining 47 yards, Ty Neuenschwander 41 yards, and Nick Ely 41 yards. Donovan Soto would add 7 yards and Morgan Randall ran for 5 yards.

The Bruins defense continued to improve holding the Oak Hill Eagles to just the 6 points. Ty Neuenschwander  and Wyatt Smith each recorded 4 tackles to lead the defense.

The Bruins (1-2 on field, 0-3 overall) will be home next Tuesday at 5:30 against the Frankton Eagles.
