Bruins News · Brown Breaks 44 Year Old Record in Win


Luke Brown opened the 2019-20 season with 65% shooting from the field on his way to 32 points to lead the Bruins past Lighthouse Christian Academy from Bloomington. Brown also recorded 14 assists, 4 steals and grabbed a rebound. The 14 assistants broke the 44 year old record of 13 set by Rod Myers in 1975 in a game against Tipton.

The Bruins, after a slow first couple of minutes, jumped out to an 18-8 lead over the Lions. The Bruins would stretch the lead to 41-18 at the half. A 32-8 third quarter made the score 73-26. LCA had a nice fourth quarter playing more Bruin subs with the final score being 94-40.
  
The Bruins had several key contributors. Brandon Stroble scored 19 points and added 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Newcomer Max Wors scored 18 points and added 7 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Rydge Dunica chipped in 10 points and added 3 rebounds and an assist. Cam Elam scored 5 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and added 4 assists and 4 steals. Dalton Willmann scored 5 points and added 3 rebounds.

The Bruins hit 38 or 68 shots (56%) from the field and hauled down 30 rebounds.

The JV boys won their game with LCA 63-10. Mickey Waters scored 11. Dawson Hundley and Tommie Stiles each added 10.
  
The Bruins host Bluffton on Saturday night. The frosh open play at 5pm followed by the JV and varsity games.
