Bruins News · Lady Bruins cruise with 50-22 win over Wes-Del

The Blackford Lady Bruins took care of business and earned their 5th win of the season 50-22 over Wes-Del. The Lady Bruins got a 2-0 lead early and never looked back. The first quarter the Lady Bruins went up 14-6. Although they had a solid lead finishing the first half with a 24-11 lead, they really didn’t hit their stride until the second half. They opened up the lead 38-17 after 3 with great ball movement for easy buckets. The 4th quarter was more of the same as the girls continued playing hard and finishing at the basket.

Coach Mitch Waters said, “In all honesty we didn’t execute our game plan very well in the first half. Our defense was uneventful and offensively we settled for too many jump shots. On the other hand, the second half the girls really answered the call and stepped it up big time. I was very proud of how everyone played tonight, especially in the 2nd half. This team just continues to improve each night and confidence is a scary thing! Moving forward we still have a lot of things to improve on, but I really am proud of where we are at this point of the season.”
