Bruins News · Reminder on Physicals

A friendly reminder that any athlete who had a physical on file last year at BJSHS (no matter what grade) will not need a new physical for this year. Parents are more than welcome to get another one for their athlete if they wish. Any athlete with any serious health issue or concern, or if a parent feels it is better to get another, is encouraged to do so.

The IHSAA, due to Covid, extended all physicals done after April 1, 2019 through the ’20-21 school year. You will have to complete (update) and “sign” all forms on Final Forms prior to ANY participation.

As of yesterday, school sports are scheduled to begin on July 6. We will be sharing more information early next week. Again, you must be “green” on Final Forms prior to beginning any participation beginning July 6. This is per the IHSAA.

“I suggest that everyone wait at least another week before getting on Final Forms as the company is updating the site and there may be a waiver added that must be signed. That way you can get everything done at one time,” shared athletic director Tony Uggen.

UPDATE: Please ignore any emails stating you have 5 days or so before everything expires. You have til July 6, or first day of your athlete’s participation thereafter, to complete the online paperwork. You will need to submit a hard copy of the health/consent form and the waiver form to the athletic office this year per request of IHSAA.

Please look for more information and updates early next week.
