Bruins News · Lack of Communication, Motivation Costs Volleyball in Losses

The varsity and JV volleyball teams fell to Southern Wells last night. The varsity lost in four sets, 24-26, 17-25, 26-24, 19-25, to fall to 1-17. The JV fell in 3 sets, 21-25, 25-18, 8-15, to fall to 2-9.

The girls, again shorthanded, struggled to improve on their communication which is critical. They hope to improve this in the days ahead. The JV girls played flat which is not very “Bruin-like.” Bruins must develop a “go get ’em'” attitude to compete at a high level. Be mentally tough! The JV will be working on that as well!”

“The girls struggled with communication and passing. They served well to make the games close,” said Coach Mark Rodgers.

JV Coach Pat Kemp shared, “The girls came out slow but bounced back to win set two only to fall in the third set. They didn’t play with any motivation.”

The girls head to Madison-Grant on Thursday for a CIC  contest. The JV match begins at 6pm.
