Bio:

Greg Garringer enters his 7th season as Head Wrestling Coach in 2020-21.  Coach Garringer graduated from Jay County High. He has coached cross-country, football, wrestling, and track.  During that span, he coached 5 undefeated middle school wrestlers, won 3 middle school team titles, had several high school state qualifiers/medalist, as well as being on staff for two team sectional titles.Coach Garringer as a high school athlete won 2 sectional, 1 regional, 1 semi-state, and took 5th place at the 1982 IHSAA state finals.  He wrestled 2 years in college at Anderson University before the program was dropped due to Title IX.  While there he won the Hoosier-Buckeye Conference, District 21, was a two-time NAIA national qualifier, and finished with a 40-17 record.

Other wrestling related items associated with Coach Garringer include: Team Indiana member versus Germany (1982), founder of Blue Jay Wrestling Club and the Blackford Wrestling Club, 1987 Pan-American Games/Team Escort (Brazil, Canada, Cuba, and Puerto Rico), served as staff member at the University of Wisconsin and Michigan State University summer wrestling camps, He is also the founder of Team Bandits (east central Indiana travel team).

Coach Garringer helped Brady Swartz (2017), Braxton Strait (2018), and Ethan Watt (2020) become Central Indiana Conference Champions. In 2018 Tori Baker won a Silver Medal at the Indiana Girls State Finals. Storm Adney (2016) and Ben Goodson reached semi-state (2017). Oliver Baronick was a 2018 sectional champion.

Coach Garringer is married to his wife Teresa and they have four daughters:  Christine, Jennifer, Janel, and Jessica.  They currently live in Redkey. He has six grandchildren: Aubrey, Chloe, Kellen, Mason, Camille, and Kensington.
