Bruins Swimmers Compete at Oak Hill Invite

Swimmers Fall to Huntington North

The swim team faced Huntington North this evening and came up short.  The girls fell to Huntington North 112-50.  The boys were defeated 122-38.  For the girls, Claire Seelen won the 100 backstroke.  Bailey Cline took 2nd in the 200 IM and Dakota Mohler was 2nd in the 100 freestyle. The YMCA is putting on a “Blackford Burrito Buster” prior to the boys basketball games with Yorktown on Saturday!! Frosh Boys BB Game Added

We have added a game for our JV boys at Monroe Central on Monday, January 5 at 6pm.  Being that the JV is made up almost entirely of freshman, they will go and play Monroe Central’s freshmen.

Swimmers Fall to Oak Hill

The swim teams took on Oak Hill tonight. The boys dropped their meet 120-42. The girls fell 120-49. Stephen McGahey finished second in the 100 Breaststroke. Zac Dudley finished second in the 50 freestyle to lead the boys. The girls were led by Claire Seelen who won the 100 Fly and 100 Backstroke. Maddie Clock

Lady Bruins Fall to Jay County, 40-35

The Lady Bruins trailed by 8 early and rallied late but couldn’t make up the difference in a 40-35 loss to Jay County this evening. Lauren Godfrey lead the Lady Bruins with 15.  Maggie Weeks-Foy and Faith Morris each added 7. A major positive was that the Bruins didn’t particularly shoot well yet still fell

JV Girls BB Falls to Jay Co

The JV girls basketball team dropped their game with Jay County this evening 29-18. Addie Schick lead the Bruins with 8.  The JV girls are off until the Monroe Central Invitational on Dec 27. Reminder that Elwood does not have a JV girls team so the JV girls do not play on Friday night.

Bruin Wrestlers Down M-G!

The Bruin wrestling team continues to improve as they defeated Madison-Grant 60-18 to improve to 8-5 overall. The Bruins jumped out to a 30-0 lead and never looked back. Coach Garringer’s team has now won 6 of its last 7 matches.  The Bruins travel to Wapahani on Saturday for an invite starting at 9am. Individual
