The Lady Bruins had a back and forth game today at Western High School losing by 1 towards the end of the game. Starting the game taking a quick lead the Panthers came back in the middle of the quarter to take a 7-6 lead. The Panthers came out aggressively and causing us to turn the ball over scoring 16 to the Bruins 10. Khaira Westerfield hit 2 threes to keep the Bruins close losing by 7 heading into the half. Starting the 3rd quarter the Bruins came out strong scoring 13 and locking down the defensive side holding the Panthers to 2 points and leading by 4 going into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter was back and forth and a possible judgment call vs the Bruins may have shifted the momentum but missed free throws was really the sticking point as we shot 15 for 40 overall.

Coach Noland said “we should have never even been in that situation.” “Our lack of focus defensively earlier on has to improve. There has been multiple games this season where we hold teams to 5 points or less a quarter so we as a team should want to do that every game and every quarter.”

Brianna Stroble led scoring with 10 points as was under the weather.
Khaira Westerfield, Macy Cagle and Kiley Eppard finished with 6 points. Eppard held their best player to 0 points in the 3rd quarter and was not feeling well herself.
Cayley Hodges finished with 4
Ava Milholland 3
Bre Adney 2
