The Blackford Lady Bruins came out and played wonderful in the first quarter. They moved the ball effectively, knocked down open shots, closed out to the shooters, and played great defense. The second quarter the Lady Jets came out smoking and went on a 14-0 run. The Lady Bruins just couldn’t quite get to the shooters on time and the jets took full advantage. The Lady Bruins went into half time down 29-16. After a few adjustments the Lady Bruins never quit and really stayed with them the entire second half before falling 35-54. Despite the loss, Olivia Waters broke the school record for assist as she hit Olivia Leas for a 3 pointer in the first quarter breaking Lynn Lefevre’s record of (58).

Coach Mitch Waters said, “Despite the loss, I am very proud of how are girls competed! This team beat us 72-18 last season and barely graduated anyone! I felt like in the first quarter we were right where we wanted to be and where we needed to be. Unfortunately, they came out really hot and went on a 14-0 run. The difference tonight compared to the last game, was that I felt like the girls tried to close out hard and were in decent position they just made the shots. In that situation I feel like you tip your cap to Adams Central and recognize that they were the better team tonight. I am very proud of our efforts and that’s what I want to see moving forward to finish the season.”
