The Blackford Lady Bruins played pretty solid in the first half until the last minute giving up 5 points to make the halftime score 32-17. Unfortunately, a poor offensive 3rd quarter with only 2 total points caused them to have a 47-19 deficit going into the 4th. However, the Lady Bruins refused to give up and outscored the Lady Vikings 13-12 to finish 59-32.

Coach Mitch Waters said, “Even though the score might not have shown it, we played a decent game, because that team is 5-1 this year and has really put it to some teams. We shot better from the field especially in the 4th quarter. It was nice to see Helen Whitesell decide to have enough confidence to shoot the ball. We have been on her most of this year trying to get more offensive output and tonight we finally got it! Turnovers are still hurting us pretty badly. We had 29 turnovers tonight and were only able to get 12 in return. That is easily a 15 point difference in the score. Also, we were only 3-13 from the free throw line which we want to be around 75%. All in all, other than the 3rd quarter I am super proud that our girls didn’t quit. We could have tossed in the towel in the 4th quarter, but these girls never give up.”
