Lady Bruins never seemed to wake up both offensively and defensively and fall against the Panthers. The Lady Bruins had a decent first quarter only trailing 10-12. In 2nd quarter the Lady Bruins looked as if someone put a lid on the basket only making 2 buckets and 1 freethrow. The game wasn’t out of reach even though they were trailing 24-15 at the half, because Olivia Leas hit 3, 3 pointers to get the game within 4. Unfortunately, the game never got any closer than that and they got beat 44-31.

Coach Mitch Waters said, “There hasn’t been very many games this season that I felt disappointed in our effort and execution, but today was one of those games that I felt like we didn’t care what happened. As a coach it is disheartening to see that considering we have done so well all season especially with our effort. Even though Western was picked to beat us, this felt like a game we could have and maybe should have won. I do understand that it’s a tough game to play coming off a conference game the night before, but Western was in the same boat and that is no excuse. The good news is, tomorrow is another day and we still have 2 games to play before sectional. Hopefully, we can get great focus at practice this week and finish this season like we are capable of.

Lady Bruins fall to 10-10 and 4-2 in the CIC. Next up Adams Central on Tuesday away.
