The Blackford Lady Bruins came up short tonight 61-35. Blackford came out ready to play, but sloppy defense allowed Daleville to shoot 37 free throws in the game making 26 of them. On the other hand, Blackford was only 2-5 from the line for the night. Turnovers also hurt the Lady Bruins having 29 and creating 12. Despite the free throws and turnovers Blackford was able to shoot a better field goal percentage at 28% (Season best) to Daleville’s 25%. This was a first time all season for Blackford, who coming into the game were shooting 18%. Blackford also out rebounded Daleville 32-23.

Head coach Mitch Waters said, “We finally were able to come out and shoot a better field goal percentage than the other team, which was very nice to see. Unfortunately, our turnovers really hurt. We were making arrant passes with nobody around us. Defensively, if you told me at the beginning of the game we would keep them at 25%, I would have told you we would be in the game with a chance to win. However, our defense was too aggressive at times and we got caught with our hands in the cookie jar. Overall even though it is a loss, I feel like every game we have come out and gotten better! I can tell the girls know this as well, because I am getting great effort every day even though we are not getting the wins.”
