The Lady Bruins came out firing on all cylinders both offensively and defensively. The Lady Bruins had one of their best quarters of the season offensively scoring 24 in the first quarter. The Lady Bruins were able to put some great full court pressure on Burris to start the game, which gave them a bunch of easy transition buckets early. Once the Lady Bruins took a 15 point lead they backed off the pressure, which seemingly allowed Burris to hang around. The Lady Bruins were just too much for Burris as they scored 67 in the game.
Coach Waters said, “We played a very good game tonight! It was nice to have a bounce back game like this, because in our last 4 or 5 games we have been up and down. All of the girls looked very good and really stepped up to the next level. We were very balanced in our scoring attack with Olivia Leas having a huge game with 24. Olivia Waters 10, Erin Cagle and Grace Simmons had 8, followed by Harding, Adney and Hodges all with 4. Brianna Stroble had her first varsity points of her career knocking down one of her free throws in the 4th. We tried to mix up our defenses tonight, but we had no answer #13 Adamowicz whom had 27. That was the only thing that I thought we didn’t execute very well, but overall it’s hard not to be ok with a 21 point win. We will have to clean up a few things quick, because Oak Hill will be our toughest test in the CIC to this point of the season.”
The Lady Bruins bump up their record to 9-6 and still 3-0 in the conference. Next up CIC foe Oak Hill who is 12-4 and also undefeated in the conference. That game is Saturday at 12:30pm at home.
